Selner Tree & Shrub Care is a TCIA Accredited business, the first in Northeast Wisconsin.

What is TCIA Accreditation?

TCIA Accreditation Logo

The TCIA Accreditation program is a comprehensive third-party verification process that reviews tree care companies to ensure they meet stringent criteria for professionalism, training, state and federal safety regulations, business ethics and consumer satisfaction. All TCIA Accredited companies have undergone a comprehensive on-site audit of professional and business practices, aimed at safeguarding consumers. TCIA Accreditation is the only program of its kind in the tree care industry. It is a voluntary process evaluating businesses to ensure that professional practices and standards are met by all employees that work on your trees.

TCIA Accreditation is a blueprint that creates model tree care companies. On average Accredited companies are 30% more efficient than non-accredited companies and pay lower insurance premiums. (Efficiency based on production employees, insurance based on WC Mod. Rates and reported premiums, additional details available.) Many homeowners research tree services on Angie’s List, the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and Yelp before signing a contract. But research no further – TCIA Accreditation takes out all the guesswork for homeowners! The list below shows how thorough the TCIA Accreditation program is, and why it’s recognized as the gold standard in the tree care industry.

  • 63-point checklist for approval
  • Consumer complaints accepted
  • On-site audit of company
  • Requires insurance
  • Accepts business to business (peer) complaints
  • Review of company safety
  • Review of tree care knowledge

Who else is Accredited? 205 companies, representing 447 locations are currently accredited, with more than 12,000 employees. Since 2004, there have only been two formal client complaints against a TCIA accredited company.
